CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a common, painful, progressive condition that is caused by compression of the median nerve at the wrist area.
TRIGGER FINGER
Trigger Finger, also known as stenosing tenosynovitis or flexor tendonitis, is a condition where one of the fingers or thumb of the hand is caught in a bent position.
DE QUERVAIN’S TENDONOSIS
De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis affects thumb movement, once called washerwoman’s sprain or mother’s wrist. It’s now often called “Blackberry thumb” due to frequent typing and texting on small devices.
ARTHRITIS OF THE HAND & WRIST
Arthritis is a joint inflammation, with osteoarthritis being the most common type, often affecting the thumb’s base. Symptoms like pain, swelling, and stiffness limit hand movement.
ARTHRITIS OF THE THUMB
Thumb arthritis, a common form of osteoarthritis, affects the joint at the thumb’s base. It’s more frequent in women over 40, causing pain, swelling, stiffness, and reduced thumb mobility.
WRIST SPRAINS
Injuries caused due to stretching or tearing of the ligaments in the wrist are called wrist sprains. These injuries are usually caused by a fall during daily activities or sports activities.
HAND SURGERY
Hand surgery treats conditions affecting the hand, wrist, or fingers, including injuries, arthritis, or deformities, to restore function and reduce pain.
BOUTONNIERE DEFORMITY
Boutonnière deformity is a condition in which a tendon injury to the middle joint of the finger results in the inability to straighten the affected finger.
FINGER & THUMB SPRAIN
A finger or thumb sprain occurs when ligaments are stretched or torn, usually from a sudden twist or impact, causing pain, swelling, and limited movement.
DUPUYTREN’S CONTRACTURE
Dupuytren’s contracture is thickening of the fibrous tissue layer under the skin of palms, fingers, and hands which leads to curving of the finger.
GANGLION (CYST) OF THE WRIST
Ganglion cysts are fluid-filled lumps that most commonly develop along the tendons or joints of wrists or hands. It looks like a water balloon on a stalk and contains a clear fluid or gelatinous material.
MALLET FINGER
Mallet finger is a condition where the end of the finger is bent and does not straighten. It occurs when the extensor tendon on the back of the finger is damaged.
THUMB FRACTURE
A break or a crack in the bones of the thumb is known as a thumb fracture. Thumb fractures can occur from a direct blow, a fall, and muscle contractions or twisting during sports.
SCAPHOID FRACTURE
A scaphoid fracture is a break in one of the small wrist bones, often caused by a fall onto an outstretched hand, leading to pain and swelling in the wrist.
FLEXOR TENDON INJURIES
Flexor tendon injuries affect the tendons that allow fingers to bend, causing pain, limited movement, or an inability to bend the fingers.
